🐺 Bmw 530I E60 Common Problems
Hi all, somewhat new to this forum. I'm looking at a 2005 525i (or possibly 530i) for my dad and was wondering how reliability is so far for people. Looks like there aren't many threads about E60 problems. The ones I could find were somewhat dated. Anyone care to share experiences? BTW, options I think he'd want: Premium package 6-spd automatic

1999 BMW 528i sports pkg. 5-speed, rear lip spoiler, removed phone, Aspheric mirror, new M5 dead pedal, home made clutch stop, removed intake muffler, clear side and rear lights, Nein CDV, full cooling system overall, Beisan VANOS seals. Best mod to date: removed seat clip.
2008 535i w/ ~ 38k miles. Driving home today, yellow "engine temperature" light / display came on, then the yellow "engine temperature" light turned RED! :bawling: Display read something like "engine is overheating need to stop car." When I got home I checked to see if any coolant was leaking from the top and bottom of the engine compartment

At 40-60k miles, some of the more common problems include failure and replacement of the entire cooling system, camshaft position sensor

The car doesn’t come with a temperature gage so I’m not 100% sure but my engine fan seems to ALWAYS turn on during the first 10-20 minutes of each start. It doesn’t matter if I drive 10 miles an hour or 80 mph
